Social connectedness refers to perceptions of intimacy and belonging in relationships with others and is a priority for quality of life according to people with dementia in Canada and internationally. Despite high stakes, few interventions have been designed and rigorously evaluated for use with people with dementia. Outlining a program of research to address loneliness, this presentation highlights research challenges and strategies to advance the field.
