Assessing risk is how we get to safety planning.
Different kinds of risk can arise in older adult relationships, where cognitive impairment is present. When domestic violence occurs how prepared are social service and health care professionals to support older adults in domestic violence situations?

This webinar will explain how to assess risk, the importance of supporting older adults and their caregivers living with dementia, and the importance of working collaboratively with various disciplines to provide a holistic view of these complex situations, that may include domestic violence.
Working together to better understand risk, we can provide support and increase safety for everyone. We hope that you can join us.

Elder Abuse Ontario partnered with the Alzheimer Society of Ontario to update our Safety Planning Toolkit to include communication strategies for safety planning for individuals living with dementia.
