The Knowledge-Sharing Project is less than three months away from its official release. Now more than ever, the opinions and recommendations of elder abuse stakeholders matter, as we shape this national hub for you. 

 The consultation process held last year revealed that many stakeholders were looking

• to establish connections and relationships with their peers on a national level, and
• to get a better access to promising practices and tools.

The CNPEA's role is to assist you in building this national community of practice and to build capacity through networking and online tools. 

In keeping with the results of the consultation, we will be adding new features to the bilingual hub and gathering the latest research, legal information and promising practices. The main focus of the site will be the exchange of tools as well as the promotion of innovative projects and useful resources for the wide variety of professional who encounter elder abuse in their practice.


If you have not done so already, joining the Knowledge-Sharing Project can be as easy as signing up for a free membership, keeping an eye on upcoming events, or sharing a favourite tool or a new project outcome with us. You can learn about the many easy ways you can get involved in the project on our blog.

  We recently hosted a webinar on supporting practice through social media. You can listen to the recording and read the accompanying blog post here to learn more about social media basics. Visit us and use our accounts as a springboard into social networks.Make sure to tag us in your updates about your events, we love to know what our community is up to!
• Listen to our recent webinars and register for new ones. Our next webinar will take place on September 24. Janice Abbott (of Atira Women's Resource Society) will talk about women who are older and fleeing abuse, simultaneously raising awareness about the new Atira tool on the subject. Other presenters TBD. Registrations open Summer 2015.
